The last stop on the epic Scandinavia trip was Copenhagen, Denmark. To reach there, I took a five hour train. This is by far the best mode of travel for cities that are within a 6 hour train ride in the Schengen zone. One just needs to show up at the train station 20-30 minutes early and can hop on the train. There is no security check and the only stress is hoping there is enough room for baggage, if that is an issue. Also, the stations are centrally located.
Upon arrival in Copenhagen, the walk to the hotel, Marriott Copenhagen, was a few blocks from the train station. The hotel was right along the waterfront.
Since I only had a day, I just took a stroll around the city. At some point, I hit a central plaza, with the expected accompanying beautiful buildings.
Then, along the path, there was another beautiful building that looked like a palace.
Finally, it was time to see Nyahvn, the instagrammable image of the city. To be frank, it was a little underwhelming. Beautiful for sure, but not a sight unique to Copenhagen.

Finally, it was time for lunch, mussels! These were as good as the ones I had in Brussels the year before.
After gobbling some lunch, it was off to Rundataarn, a tower with a cramped spiral staircase with a view of the city.

The climb burned off some calories, and it was worth it, for the view was epic.
This was the end of my adventure in Scandinavia. The only regret was not hitting Norway, but I made up for that by flying all the way back over the Atlantic Ocean just to check it out. That will be for a future set of posts.
